        DentaShield® was developed at the Indiana University School of Dentistry by a team of researchers led by Dr. George Stookey, a pioneer in fluoride research and preventive dentistry for humans and animals.

        Dr. Stookey has authored more than 230 publications in scientific journals and made invaluable contributions to scientific meetings, text and reference books. He holds almost 20 U.S. and foreign patents. And, in 2002 he received the International Association for Dental Research Distinguished Scientist Award for Dental Caries Research.
         
        Dr. Stookey continues his research today with primary interests in fluoride pharmacology, the use of fluoride to prevent dental caries, new technologies for the early detection of dental caries, and measures for calculus prevention.
